GuideDocuments & clients

Documents & clients

Any business can switch on Documents in Settings (off by default). It comes with a lightweight Clients book and a per-client document store.

The Clients book

Add a person — name, email, phone, notes — even if they’ve never booked online. Each client has a file you can upload documents to (a diagnosis and action plan, say, for a chiropractor). It’s gated behind the manage_clients permission, so only the ranks you allow can open it.

Handling sensitive information

Client files can hold sensitive information, including health data, so they’re kept isolated to your business and Lily won’t read them.

  • In Settings you can set a retention window — how many months to keep documents, or leave it blank to keep them indefinitely.
  • You can erase a client and all their documents outright — a typed-confirmation action that can’t be undone.

Certificates stay separate

This is different from training’s Certificates feature (seeBookings & sessions) — Certificates belongs to the training business kind specifically; Documents can be switched on by any business kind.

Find it all under Clients in the sidebar once it’s switched on.
